Welcome to Useful Drills 162. Unfortunately, I have lost Sardar Ji’s wonderful work for the Useful Drills page :(. As of this week, the Useful Drills page will be dedicated to the setting up of Farsi keyboard layout and typing in Farsi or Persian.
Today, I will teach you how to activate your Farsi keyboard on your Windows 10. From next week, we will start practising.
How to set up Farsi keyboard layout on Windows 10:
Do you have problems watching the video online? Click on the link below to download it.
To activate Farsi keyboard layout, please follow the instructions below:
Right-click on Start.
Click on Settings.
In the Windows Settings window, click on Time & Language.
Click on Region & Language.
Click ‘Add a language’.
Scroll down to Persian.
Click on Persian – and the Farsi keyboard will be activated.
To write in Farsi, open Microsoft Word (or any other programme you use for writing), click on the Language Icon on the taskbar and choose Farsi (you can also change the language by holding down the Alt button and then clicking on Shift).
Do not forget: to write a BIG LETTER, you need to hold down the Shift button on your keyboard.
Enjoy typing in Farsi! Keep practising a bit by clicking on different buttons. We will practise more next week.
Hope you enjoyed this lesson. See you next Saturday.
